Re-elect Holly Moon as Newaygo County Treasurer in the August 5, 2008 Primary Election!
“I understand the challenges of the County Treasurer’s Office and have made great strides to improve office functions since my election in 2005 by operating with high standards for honesty, integrity and customer service.”
As your Newaygo County Treasurer, I have:
- Saved $150,000 during my first year in office by combining contracts and bidding out legal and auction services for the PA123 Tax Reversion process.
- Recovered over $726,000 in unbilled property tax charge backs that occurred between 1999-2004 based on audit and legal counsel recommendations.
- Tripled the County’s investment earnings during my second year in office as indicated by the annual audit report.
- Successfully invested the $9 million bond issue proceeds for the Trillium Springs construction project and maximized investment earnings.
- Instituted the acceptance of credit and debit cards to pay delinquent taxes more conveniently on-line or via the telephone.
- Implemented new processes and procedures to begin reconciling and balancing County bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Implemented on-line banking services and necessary fraud prevention tools on all County bank accounts.
- Assessed the operational needs of the office and re-wrote staff job descriptions to maximize employee strengths and increase productivity.
